  • Creating a good environment for children/parents and vulnerable people in the community.
  • Using community values and community networks to promote cohesion and cultural awareness.

Community Cohesion and Partnership Work

Over the past five years, our organisation has worked extensively to promote community cohesion, integration, and positive relationships across Stoke-on-Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Building Positive Race Relations

We have maintained a strong partnership with Staffordshire Police, engaging in meetings and activities to support the Race Action Plan and build positive race relations across the region.

Reaching Hard-to-Engage Communities

We have collaborated with individuals and organisations in areas considered “hard to reach,” promoting inclusion, dialogue, and mutual understanding. Our work focuses on bridging the gap between service providers and communities, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.

Community Projects and Partnerships

We have delivered a wide range of projects and community activities, including:

  • Abbey Hulton (St John’s Church and Welcome Centre): Preparing hot meals during the cost-of-living crisis, funded by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Community Foundation for Staffordshire.
  • Abbey Hulton Sports and Social Club: Hosting community events.
  • Sutton Trust Community Group (Betty Rushton Garden): Partnering with WEA to provide community training.
  • Wallace Sports Centre (Friday Youth Takeover) and New Friars College: Working with young people to promote engagement and positive development.
  • Bentilee Community: Supported by Ten Count Boxing, Ulysses Youth, and Bentilee Volunteers to deliver food parcels and community support.
